The U.S. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a law ensuring public access to U.S. government records. FOIA carries a presumption of disclosure; the burden is on the government – not the public – to substantiate why information may not be released. Upon written request, agencies of the United States government are required to disclose those records, unless they can be lawfully withheld from disclosure under one of nine specific exemptions in the FOIA. This right of access is ultimately enforceable in federal court.
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
Somewhere down below, deep in the ocean,
Deep down in the,” Gulf of Mexico”,
The waters once were clean, and everything was living,
Then someone drilled a hole into a dream.
Now the Earth is bleeding, a spear thrust in her side, like, “Jesus” we are dying on the cross,,
And a sphere of oil is rushing,
The blood of Earth is gushing,
And no-one knows how to stop or heal the wound.
Days and months go by, early in the morning,
The story in the paper is a scam,
And while the men keep trying,
Everything is dying,
The Earth is now a sacrificial lamb.
The fish, the birds, and everything that swims, is turning black,
The one thing we can never do, is,” turn the time clock back”,
And all our money will never buy, or create one grain of sand,
Or a, “perfect World”, this gift from God, created by his hand.
To meet our needs, we rape the world,
Take, and don’t give back,
And like the crystal waters,
Our souls are turning black.
Knowledge we call, “Science”, but the answers are not there,
And in the end, the “Earth”, our friend,
We can only watch and stare,
Waiting for a miracle, compelled to pray and rhyme,
In verse we ask forgiveness,
“God” Save Us, One More Time.
